About Us......

Life In A Bowl Hair and Skincare Products were made by the visionary, Tie-She Thomas, the founder of Beautiful Kids Non-profit Organization, based out of Newport News, Virginia. B.K.O supports people living with alopecia, an autoimmune disease that attack the hair follicles and causes permeant hair loss.  The products were created, when Mrs. Thomas prayed to our heavenly father asking for a vision, or a way to protect kids who have been bullied because of hair loss.

 Research begins......

The team started researching different types of fruits, and vegetables that make the hair flourish. As we all know fruit and veggies are good for the hair and the body. Fruits and Vegetables are loaded with vitamins. In berries, there are vitamins A-D,  and in Aloe vera there are, vitamins A, C, and E. All five of these vitamins contribute to cell turnover, promoting healthy cell growth and shiny hair. Vitamin B-12 and folic acid are also contained in aloe vera gel. Both of these components can keep your hair from falling out.

Shelf Life...

The shelf life on berries can survive 10 to 12 months in-store when properly maintain quality. However, the berries will remain safe beyond that time.

What's in the oil and shampoo...

Berries:

Berries are loaded with beneficial compounds and vitamins that will promote hair growth. Vitamin C has strong antioxidant properties. Antioxidants can help protect hair follicles against harmful molecules called Free Radicals. This molecule exists naturally in the body and the environment. Also, the body uses vitamin C to produce collagen, a protein that helps strengthen hair to prevent the hair from becoming brittle.

Aloe Vera Gel :

Aloe vera shelf life is 6 months if store property (refrigerator). It does wonders in other formulations. The gel that's not put in a formulation last only 5-7 days.

Why do these plants and Fruit works for hair growth...

The berries work because hair is composed of dead cells called Keratin. The growth of hair occurs when the dead cells are pushed out by the hair follicles because of the production of the new cells. It also occurs in three stages: growth, anagen, cessation (catagen), and telogen. The proanthocyanidins, chemicals found in berries, stimulate hair growth by accelerating the transition from telogen to anagen.

Aloe vera gel improves the health of hair follicles and boosts hair growth. Proteolytic enzymes also stimulate the dormant hair follicles, promoting regrowth of the hair.

Skin Benefits...

Berries and Aloe gel has been proven that it help with several skin conditions and their topical application has been touted as the cure for damaged or acne-prone skin. Berries and Aloe are awesome when making natural hair and skin products, both can be used as a substitute for chemical-based skin care products.
